Frequently asked questions

Questions roofing owners ask before hiring us

The questions below come up in nearly every first conversation with a roofing owner. If yours isn't here, call, text or email and ask it directly.

Written by Ali Sedighi, MBALast updated:

The quick answer to most questions: we're a Vancouver-based marketing service for roofing companies that offer financing through licensed lenders. We're not a lender, a broker or a roofer. Plans start at $1,999 a month, run month to month, and you own everything we build. The detailed answers are in the questions on this page; the notes below add context.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

Plans start at $1,999 per month, or $1,499 per month billed annually, plus GST/HST at your province's rate. The Elite and Enterprise plans are $3,999 and $7,999 per month, or $2,999 and $5,999 on annual billing.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. Plans are month-to-month with 30 days' notice. Annual billing lowers the price but isn't required.

Are you a lender, or do you arrange loans?

No. We're a marketing and business consulting service. Homeowners apply with your licensed lender partner, which sets the rates and terms and makes every decision.

Do you install or repair roofs?

No. We're not a contractor and do no roofing work of any kind. We market and advise roofing companies.

Can you tell me which lender to work with?

We don't name or recommend lenders, and we take no commissions from them. We can give you questions to ask any lender about its dealer program and marketing rules.

Can you put interest rates or monthly payments in my ads?

Only using your lender's approved wording, with the disclosures it requires. Stating a rate or payment in an ad can bring extra disclosure duties, so we keep most ads general.

How long before we see results?

Financing pages and follow-up can be live in about three weeks, depending on how fast your lender reviews copy. A fair judgement of results takes one full roofing season.

We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

We can't promise it will be. What we can do is start from your own estimate numbers, agree what success looks like before we begin, and report in counts from your records, so you'll know quickly whether it's working.

Who owns the website, ad accounts and content?

You do. Pages, ad accounts, message templates and tracking sheets belong to your company. If you leave, they stay with you.

What do the reports show?

Estimates written, how often financing came up, how many homeowners asked for lender details, applications reported by your lender as totals, and signed jobs, compared with the same season last year.

Do you see my customers' financial information?

No. We work only with counts. Credit applications go directly to the lender, and we never ask for or store homeowners' financial details.

Do you work outside my province?

We work with roofing companies in all ten provinces and three territories from Vancouver, by video call or in person as well as phone, text and email. Each region page notes the local climate, consumer-protection office and relevant programs.

Is the first consultation free?

Yes. Eligible trades businesses get a free 30-minute initial consultation, with no obligation to buy a plan.

About money and contracts

Prices come from the Trades.Agency family plans and are listed in full on the pricing page. There's no long-term contract and no commission on financed jobs. Ad spend, where you run ads, is paid directly to the platform from your account.

If you're weighing whether a plan pays for itself, do the arithmetic before calling. The estimate math guide shows how, with dealer fees included.

About lenders and the rules

We don't choose your lender, earn money from lenders or set any terms. That independence is deliberate: we can tell you honestly if financing isn't helping, because we don't profit from more loans.

When we write financing material, the lender's approved wording takes priority over our own preferences. The advertising rules guide summarises why a rate or monthly payment in an ad can trigger disclosure expectations, and which offices to ask about your province.

About past agency experiences

Many roofing owners have paid for marketing that produced clicks and reports but few signed roofs. The usual causes are vague goals, reports built on ad-platform numbers rather than your records, and campaigns that ignored the roofing season.

We try to avoid those causes specifically:

  1. We agree targets in counts you can check, such as estimates and signed jobs.
  2. We plan around your region's install season.
  3. We report season on season, which is the only fair comparison in roofing.
  4. We tell you when something isn't working.

None of that removes the risk entirely. Marketing is never certain, and anyone who promises otherwise is guessing.

About working together

There are no forms and no booking widgets. Ring or text (604) 632-4959, or send your numbers to Ali@Sedighi.ca. The contact page lists what to include in your first message so the first conversation is useful.

Most engagements start with the financing pages and estimate wording, because they work on homeowners you already reach. From there, the services overview explains how the other four services fit.

About results and reporting

We don't promise outcomes, because a roofing company's results depend on things no marketer controls: your prices, your reviews, your crews, your lender's approval criteria and the weather. What we do commit to is reporting that lets you judge for yourself.

Each month you'll see five counts: estimates written, estimates where financing came up, homeowners who asked for the lender's details, applications as your lender reports them in totals, and signed jobs split by financed and not. Each season, you'll see those same counts against the previous year. The financing tracking service explains how it's set up, and the results page shows the case studies from our HVAC work that inform our methods.

About timelines

Most of the work moves at the speed of your lender's review. Our drafts are usually ready within a week or two; lender approval of marketing copy can take days or several weeks. We plan around the slower case, so nothing is promised for a date that depends on someone else.

A realistic first-season sequence looks like this:

  1. Month 1: financing page, estimate line and tracking sheet in place.
  2. Month 2: follow-up sequence live, with consent recorded at each estimate.
  3. Month 3 onward: scripts and seasonal campaigns, if the numbers support them.

The fairest judgement comes at the end of a full roofing season, when you can compare it with the one before.
